Uri Levine, Founder of Waze, FeeX
Uri Levine is a passionate serial entrepreneur and mentor to other entrepreneurs. He co-founded Waze, the world's largest driving traffic and navigation app, with more than 200M drivers around the globe. In June 2013, Google bought Waze for $1.1 billion, making it the biggest exit in Israel. After Waze, Uri has co-founded FeeX, where he serves as Chairman. FeeX is a new startup that helps find and reduce hidden fees on financial services and addresses a problem in the size of $600 billion in the US alone. FeeX allows users to recover hundreds of thousands of dollars in their retirement and long-term investment plans. Uri focuses solely on consumer services, especially those, which can create a lot of value to a lot of users. He creates a better world for the consumer, empowering it with information, and has saved us all money and time – in other words: he focuses on doing good and doing well.
Andrej Kiska, President of the Slovak Republic
Andrej Kiska was elected President of the Slovak Republic in March 2014. For more than 15 years, he held various management positions and conducted business activities. He founded several companies, the most successful of which were Triangle and Quatro established in 1996. During their existence, these companies provided financial services to more than 1 million people and became the most successful hire-purchase companies in Slovakia. In 2005 he sold his entire stake in these companies to the VUB bank and decided to devote himself to charity work. In 2006 he founded Good Angel which helps families with children which have found themselves in financial distress because of a serious, life-threatening illness, and has become the most successfull non-corporate charity in Slovakia today.
Petra Langerova, Former Head of Design at Everlane
Petra is one of the most successful Slovak designers abroad, now based in New York. In 2013 she left a high-powered job at Gap as Design Director to take a gamble and be the first head of design at what was then a little-known design startup called Everlane. Four years after launching its online shop with a single $15 T-shirt (now a cult favorite), Everlane has more than 300,000 customers. Prior to Gap, Petra was a designer at J.Crew and Tommy Hilfiger.
John Sexton, Former President of New York University
John Sexton served as the fifteenth President of New York University, from 2002 to 2015. During his Presidency, the University’s reach and stature have grown tremendously. President Sexton oversaw the University’s largest increase in the number of Arts and Science faculty; applications for undergraduate admissions have reached record levels; and, in 2008, NYU finished the most successful completed fundraising campaign in the history of American higher education. A signature of his tenure has been the emergence of NYU as a Global Network University, with a unique network of 12 international academic centers and a liberal arts campus in Abu Dhabi and another campus being established in Shanghai.
Esther Dyson, Chairman at EDventure
Esther Dyson is a Swiss-born American journalist, author, businesswoman, investor, commentator and philanthropist. She is a leading angel investor focused on breakthrough efficacy in healthcare, government transparency, digital technology, biotechnology, and space. October 2008 to March of 2009, she lived in Star City outside Moscow, Russia, training as a backup cosmonaut. She is a board member of numerous companies and was an early investor in such notable start-ups as Evernote, Flickr, Mashery, Medstory, Omada Health, and Square. With more than 150 investments, Esther was named by Forbes magazine as one of the most powerful women in American business.
Danny Cabrera, Founder of BioBots
Danny Cabrera is the CEO and Co-Founder of BioBots, a life science startup based in Philadelphia. BioBots was founded in 2014 to help design and engineer biology to cure diseases, eliminate the organ waiting list, revert climate change, and live on other planets. BioBots' first product is a 3D bioprinter called BioBot 1. In addition to being featured on CNN and Fortune, BioBots was recently a TechCrunch Disrupt 2015 Finalist and named The Company of the Year by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Danny was the SXSW 2015 Most Innovative award winner, and he is an Inc. and Forbes 30 under 30.
Karel Obluk, Former CTO, CEO of AVG
Karel is a seasoned executive and investor with a strong IT background and experience in senior management positions. Over the past decade, he has been instrumental in growing one of world’s most successful antivirus companies, AVG Technologies, from a small business to a public listing on the New York Stock Exchange. As CTO and acting CEO, he proved not only his technical skills but also management and business acumen. Karel is now General Partner at Evolution Equity Partners, a growth stage international investor focusing on Cyber-Security and Enterprise Software. Rado Danilak, Founder of Skyera
Dr. Radoslav Danilák is a Slovak entrepreneur and technologist based in Cupertino, California. In 2010, he founded Skyera, where he served as its Chief Executive Officer where has been awarded Gold for the 2013 Tech Awards Circle in the Emerging Company Executive of the Year in the USA in Enterprise category. Skyera was acquired by Western Digital in 2014. Radoslav was also the Founder and Chief Technologist at SandForce, the world leading MLC flash controller chips company, which was acquired by LSI in October 2009 for $377m. He has more than 100 patents. Radoslav has recently founded Tachyum, intelligent data centers and devices hardware startup, where he serves as CEO.
Jan Pernecky, Product Architect at Vectary
Jan Pernecky is Product Architect at Vectary, which is an online 3D design tool for modeling and customization that provides easy ways to create complex shapes. Jan has been teaching creative programming and robotic fabrication at universities and led workshops in Slovakia, Czechia, Poland and Italy and has also established an NGO called rese arch that organizes workshops and conferences on computational design around Europe. He has conducted independent research on the theory of digital architecture (genetic algorithms, generative design, design by behavior, augmented reality). Jan studied architecture at Excessive III / Die Angewandte, Vienna, Academy of fine arts and Design, Bratislava, Faculty of Architecture STU, Bratislava and Arkitekturskolan KTH, Stockholm.
Yanki Margalit, Social Entrepreneur, Hi-tech Investor
Yanki Margalit is an Israeli entrepreneur, investor, and speaker best known for starting the Internet security company Aladdin Knowledge Systems, which was sold in 2009 with over 600 employees and close to $150M in sales. He is a partner in the seed investment fund Innodo Ventures and a chairman of several technology startup companies, including SpaceIL. SpaceIL is a non-profit space technology organization that plans to land an unmanned spaceship on the moon and is currently competing for the Google Lunar X Prize.
Max Kelly, Techstars, Managing Director
Max Kelly is Managing Director or Techstars London. Techstars is the world’s leading accelerator programme for early stage startups. Bindi Karia, known also as the "queen of startups", has devoted much of her career to building startup ecosystems, most recently as Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank. Prior to that, she was Venture Capital/Emerging Business lead at Microsoft UK where for five years, she led BizSpark in the UK (now, Microsoft Ventures). She focused on how Microsoft could drive success for early-stage technology companies as well as partnering with the UK Investor Community. Blair MacLaren, Partner at ACTIVE Venture Partner
Blair MacLaren is a partner at ACTIVE Venture Partners (www-active-vp.com), a European venture capital fund manager headquartered in Barcelona specialised in investments in early and expansion stage technology companies.
